Wayland: Screen share + draw (but no control)
J Sherwani (Pop Team)
Wayland makes it difficult to manage shared control, but it may be possible for us to enable screen shares + drawing on Wayland.
If you'd rather use X11 with full control, do not upvote this issue!
However, if this would obviate the need for you to switch to X11 most of the time, please upvote this feature request so we can accurately understand your perspective.
This would still be pretty useful. I do a lot of pair programming, but don't control the other person's screen much. I mostly view and draw.
This would be great. Honestly, I would love if Pop would just allow me to join a call on wayland where I can use the other person's screen. (I assume this is possible without many modifications?) I use SwayWM, which is wayland only. At the current time, my need is to control other's screens for onboarding, etc. It is not as important for my screen to be controllable.
Since Wayland is the future of many Linux distros, I think this feature will be inevitable. It would be very helpful to build towards that with basic screensharing and calls, even if shared control is impossible.
This would be great. Right now with wayland I can't even start a call. A message to change to x11 shows up.
