Does Pop still go out to the internet when both machines are on the same LAN?

We want to start encouraging people to use Pop for pair programming, but we're concerned if Pop has to send all the traffic out to the internet that the experience will degrade as it gains popularity at our office.
If both machines are on the same LAN, is Pop able to route the bulk of the traffic over LAN?

Pop automatically routes traffic using the best available option. If both parties are on the same LAN, and do not have restrictive firewalls, then yes, traffic should be routed directly. You should have no performance issues if everyone's in the same office.
Additionally, we're able to throttle down to lower bandwidth usage if people are using Pop from homes with limited bandwidth.
You could use an app like Little Snitch (macOS) to confirm this. If you notice anything odd, let us know, and we'll look into it!
